Aircraft Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A chopper soaring above a crowded southern California beach suddenly started spinning out of control, finally descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Videos shared on social media show the aircraft commencing to spiral above the shoreline then falling near the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged between palm groves and a staircase close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
Emergency responders said five persons were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the incident on that day.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their wounds were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
