Paramount Skydance Will Cut Around 2,000 American Positions – Report
Paramount Skydance plans to initiate significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs within a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
These job cuts follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.
More global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance planning to disclose complete information in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Previous updates stated the company was looking to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
By December 2024, the company employed about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
