Teenage Assailant Given Life Sentence with Minimum 16-Year-Long Term
A 15-year-old adolescent has been punished to life incarceration with a lowest term of 16-year period for the murder of other schoolmate Harvey Willgoose during a lunch period.
Deadly Learning Environment Occurrence
Mohammed Umar Khan pierced Harvey, who was also 15, in the heart with a large blade at Sheffield's All Saints Catholic High School in the second month.
The judge removed the name suppression order on the killer during sentencing at the courthouse.
Relatives Statement
The victim's mother stated she felt "as if a large load has been taken off my back" following the verdict.
The two adolescents had previously disputed over online platforms in the time prior to the lethal incident.
The mother stated she was glad the minimum term had been established higher than the required minimum of 15-year period.
"My father has been having medical treatment through the trial and he just couldn't continue any more," she said.
Circumstances of the Incident
Prior to the killing on February 3rd, the defendant and the deceased had chosen conflicting positions in a separate dispute between two other schoolmates.
CCTV from the date of the stabbing showed the assailant coming near the deceased in the outdoor area shortly after midday.
Bystanders recounted a situation of "chaos", with people "running, screaming throughout" during the brutal incident.

Throughout the trial, the defendant claimed he had not planned to cause death to the victim or cause him significant damage, claiming he could not remember what had occurred.
Prosecutors maintained that he had "wanted to prove he was formidable" and "was aware exactly what he was doing".
"You acted as the aggressor and... you behaved in hurt and anger at what you viewed to be his betrayal of your friendship," stated the justice during the punishment phase.
Consequences
All Saints Catholic High School released a message conveying that Harvey was "deeply remembered every day by the entire educational community".
Law enforcement highlighted the devastating results of bearing blades, noting that a "instantaneous action" can forever transform numerous futures.
