Tuchel Criticizes Wembley Crowd Support Following Dominant Wales Victory.

The England head coach shared his sadness that the England team did not enjoy stronger backing from the home spectators during their decisive triumph over Wales on Thursday night.

Tuchel was happy to see his team continue their winning momentum, with goals from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the opening quarter effectively ending the contest. However, he was displeased with the mood at the national stadium.

“We had limited sessions to get ready against a well-trained team and we excelled,” Tuchel commented. “It could have been five goals ahead at the break. We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth goals. It was quiet. We didn’t get support from the crowd. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you deliver in 20 minutes? We prevented them escape. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the team deserved more support today.”

“I stand by this statement. There’s nothing more than being three goals up in a rivalry match. I hoped for a greater backing in phases where it becomes tough.”

“After halftime, to get behind us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It might have aided us to refocus, but it is what it is and that is it.”

Selection Choices Justified by Performance

Apart from potentially starting a fight with fans, the manager also created controversy by excluding Jude Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. However the choice was validated by Morgan Rogers delivering another standout performance in the No 10 position and scoring his maiden goal for his country.

“He is what he is,” Tuchel said. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is vying for his position.”

Wales Manager Seeks Improvement from Defeat

Craig Bellamy hopes that his team, who host a strong Belgian side in a important World Cup qualifier on next week, improve after their disappointing performance in the opening period.

“This is why I wanted this match,” Bellamy stated. “I wanted to assess our standing. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? This performance gives me drive.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Watkins was substituted at the break after colliding with a goalpost and may miss out when the national team play Latvia in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
